Michael Reed Jr., an 18-year-old African American male from Hainesville, Illinois, tragically lost his life on August 6, 2022, following a shooting incident in Waukegan. The incident occurred at an apartment complex located in the 500 block of South Genesee Street. The Waukegan Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered numerous spent shell casings and a firearm at the scene.
