On October 27, 2023, a tragic incident occurred at the former Ramada Inn hotel located in the 200 block of North Green Bay Road in Waukegan, Illinois. At approximately 9:50 p.m., Waukegan police responded to a report of a shooting at the hotel. Upon arrival, officers found two men with gunshot wounds inside one of the hotel rooms.

The victims were identified as Jamir Johnson, a 30-year-old resident of Gurnee, and David Miller, a 59-year-old resident of Lindenhurst. Both men were pronoun ...
