Luis Amaya, a 36-year-old Hispanic male from Waukegan, Illinois, tragically lost his life on September 4, 2021, due to multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Belvedere Road, where Amaya was found with severe injuries. Despite being rushed to Vista Medical Center East, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The shooting also left another man, a 40-year-old from Waukegan, injured but he survived the attack.
