Daviontae Sims-Friar, a 24-year-old African American male from Waukegan, Illinois, tragically lost his life on March 24, 2021. The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Washington Street, where officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Daviontae with multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Vista East Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
