Davonne Reed, a 40-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on July 27, 2021, in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. According to reports, Reed was standing outside in the 1400 block of South Lawndale Avenue when an assailant emerged from a blue sedan and opened fire. Reed was struck in the lower back and was subsequently transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
