Leon Allen, 66, a Black/African American male from Chicago, was walking along the 4600 block of West Van Buren Street in West Garfield Park on the morning of October 19, 2021, when a white van pulled up and someone inside opened fire. He was struck and rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
