Cordero Thomas, a 32-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on January 21, 2021, in the Lawndale neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. when Thomas was standing outside in the 3200 block of West Douglas Boulevard. According to the Chicago police, an unknown assailant opened fire, striking Thomas multiple times. He was subsequently transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
