Elzie Johnson, a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot on May 9, 2025, in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side of Chicago. Officers responded to a call about a person shot and discovered Johnson in the backyard of a home located in the 5400 block of West Jackson Boulevard around 12:10 p.m. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Emergency responders transported him to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
