Clois W. Lamb, a 43-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on December 12, 1989, in Columbus, Georgia. Officer Lamb was on duty inside the Columbus Police Department when a suspect entered the station and opened fire. The assailant, later identified as Kalvin Bailey, shot Officer Lamb multiple times in the back, resulting in his immediate death. Another officer was also wounded during the incident. The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended by other officers several blocks away.
