An early-morning house fire in northeast Birmingham Monday that claimed the life of a 61-year-old man is now being investigated as a homicide, police said.
Dettrick Ramsey, of Birmingham, died after being pulled from a burning home on Redstone Way around 4:22 a.m. His body was taken to the medical examiner's office at Cooper Green Mercy Hospital, where preliminary findings led investigators to classify Ramsey's death as a homicide, according to a release.
