In the early hours of July 17, 2021, 18-year-old Treven Williams was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 7600 block of 2nd Avenue North. Officers from the East Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter alert and a 911 call reporting a person down. Upon arrival, they found Williams lying in the parking lot of an apartment complex, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
