On February 20, 2022, at approximately 8:09 p.m., Birmingham Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting near Avenue P and 57th Street in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had collided with a residence. Inside the vehicle, 16-year-old Jeremiah Collier of Forestdale was found unresponsive in the passenger seat, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
