In a tragic turn of events on May 15, 2014, Adunte Carr, a young African American male, lost his life in a violent shootout in southwest DeKalb County, an area within metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. The fatal incident unfolded inside a moving vehicle and was the culmination of a planned robbery by his own associates. The altercation began when three fellow gang members, Cordarius Genard Wyatt, Reco Rodriges Hart, and Kevin Hambrick, attempted to rob Carr over a drug debt.
