In the early evening of June 17, 2014, a violent encounter in the parking lot of a CVS in northwest Atlanta claimed the life of 28-year-old Michael Holmes, an African American male. The incident, which unfolded at the pharmacy situated at the intersection of Marietta Boulevard and Bolton Road, escalated from a verbal dispute into a shootout.
