In the afternoon of April 11, 2023, a young man's life was cut short in a brazen ambush at a busy Atlanta transit station. Charles Madison Perkins, a 20-year-old male from Douglasville, Georgia, was fatally shot around 4:20 p.m. in the concourse area of the Ashby MARTA station, just before the turnstiles. The attack, which unfolded in broad daylight, sent shockwaves through the community.
