Death by Force

On April 11, 2023, Charles Madison Perkins, a 20-year-old from Douglasville, Georgia, was fatally shot at the Ashby MARTA station in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. in the concourse area of the station, just before the turnstiles. According to MARTA Police, a gunman opened fire, and despite immediate medical attention from Grady EMS, Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
