In the winter of 2023, a young man's life was tragically cut short on a street in South Fulton, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. Twenty-five-year-old Brandon Bennett was discovered lying in the road on the evening of December 6th, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred on Feldwood Road, in the vicinity of Banneker High School.
Originally from Augusta, Bennett had relocated to the Atlanta area with aspirations of establishing his independence.
His family remembers him as a kind and generous individual, affectionately known as 'Bird.' He was living with a group of people in a nearby home and would regularly walk to and from his job. On the night of his death, however, his ever-present cell phone was conspicuously missing.
In the wake of the tragedy, Bennett's mother, Jamise Knight, voiced her profound grief and frustration, believing the targeted nature of her son's injury suggested a personal motive. The family expressed their distress over the limited information provided by the South Fulton police regarding the investigation into his death. As of the initial reports, no suspects had been identified or taken into custody, leaving a family to grapple with unanswered questions and the sudden loss of their loved one.
