Wright was driving near Cheshire Bridge Road, attempting to get onto Interstate 85, when a grey Pontiac Grand Prix carrying three men pulled up alongside his vehicle. Shots were fired from the Grand Prix, striking Wright.
For three weeks, he fought for his life before ultimately succumbing to his injuries and passing away in April 2014.
