Benjamin Netherland, a 43-year-old white man from Union City, GA, tragically lost his life on March 8, 2015. The incident occurred in the front yard of his home, where he was shot multiple times by Michael Shane Black, a childhood friend. The shooting was witnessed by Benjamin's mother, Sandra Netherland, who was present at the scene and pleaded with Black to stop.
