A 17-year-old male from Newnan, Georgia, Sean Michael Turner, was fatally shot on December 5, 2015, in Atlanta in a carjacking that transpired after a planned drug deal went awry. Turner, who had recently completed his high school education, had traveled to Atlanta to visit a friend. The two made arrangements to purchase marijuana and were introduced to Tellisavoris Demon Floyd and Cornelius Seabrum.
Floyd and Seabrum entered the rear of Turner's BMW under the pretense of directing him
to the location of the drug sale. However, they soon brandished firearms, placed Turner and his friend in headlocks, and robbed them of their cell phones and car keys. After being forced from the vehicle, Turner attempted to reclaim his car as the assailants began to drive away. As he opened the driver's side door of the moving car, he was shot in the stomach. Turner was transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. He would have celebrated his 18th birthday the following month.
Tellisavoris Demon Floyd, who was 19 at the time of his conviction, was apprehended nearly three months after the incident. He was found guilty of multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, carjacking, and weapons offenses, and received a sentence of life in prison plus 25 years. The second individual, Cornelius Seabrum, was also indicted on charges of murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and weapons violations and was slated for a separate trial.
