Carlos Simmons, a 40-year-old African American man, was tragically shot and killed on April 6, 2016, in Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Sells Avenue SW, where an argument escalated into gunfire, resulting in Simmons' death. The Atlanta Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
