In the early moments of January 13, 2017, the life of 34-year-old Mark Phillips, a Black male, was brought to a violent and tragic end inside his own home in Powder Springs, Georgia. Having just returned with his wife and children, the family walked into an ambush. Assailants, who had been lying in wait within the residence, immediately attacked Phillips in the foyer.
