Fabrice Matthew Robelin, a 19-year-old male, tragically lost his life on the evening of Wednesday, May 8, in the Lost Lakes neighborhood of Powder Springs, Georgia. An aspiring electrician and a 2023 graduate of McEachern High School, he had just completed his first semester of college. His life was cut short by a fatal gunshot wound to the head and neck during an altercation.
The incident unfolded around 7:30 p.m. when an argument between Robelin and another teenager, 18-year-old Coledye Warnock, escalated into a physical fight. During the struggle, a gun was produced, and Robelin was shot. In a surprising turn of events, Warnock himself ran to a nearby home on Nectar Drive and confessed to a homeowner that he had just shot someone, prompting a 911 call. When Powder Springs police officers arrived at the scene near Shipp Road, they discovered Robelin, who was pronounced dead.
Coledye Warnock was promptly arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. Initially facing a charge of felony involuntary manslaughter, his charges were later upgraded to murder. In addition to the murder charge, Warnock faces a litany of other serious offenses, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, possession of an altered firearm, and affray.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding Robelin's death is ongoing. In the week following the shooting, authorities announced the arrests of six other individuals, ranging in age from 17 to 20. These additional arrests were related to the fight that served as a prelude to the deadly shooting.
