On August 3, 2017, 21-year-old Dontray JaRon Hart was fatally shot in the 1000 block of West 35th Street in Savannah, Georgia. The incident occurred in the afternoon, as children were returning home from school. Hart, described by friends and family as a caring individual with "a heart of gold," was attempting to improve his life, focusing on his relationship and employment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
