In the late hours of a February night in Savannah, Georgia, the life of Brian Daquan Marquise Brannen, a 21-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. On February 8, 2020, Brannen was discovered in a parking lot, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal. The Savannah Police Department quickly classified his death as a homicide and launched a full investigation into the shooting.
