On a November night in 2017, the life of 46-year-old Antimothy Lamar Davis, a male from Atlanta, Georgia, was tragically cut short. Davis was at a home in South DeKalb County, still on the mend from a gunshot wound he had sustained the previous year. In the pre-dawn hours of November 18th, two men, Patrick Croskey and Kryshlar Maxwell, both aged 26, arrived at the residence, purportedly to purchase a large quantity of crack cocaine.
A man named Joe Strickland answered the door, and what
began as a transaction quickly escalated into a deadly confrontation. One of the visitors produced a firearm, prompting Davis, who was nearby on a couch, to shout a warning to Strickland. In the ensuing chaos, two shots were fired. While Strickland was not hit, both bullets found their mark in Antimothy Lamar Davis, striking him in the arm and chest. The injuries proved fatal, and he died at the scene.
Fleeing the house after the shooting, Croskey and Maxwell’s getaway was brief. They crashed their car a short distance away. Law enforcement officers who responded to the scene discovered the wrecked vehicle with Maxwell still inside. Croskey was also located, having sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Both men were taken into custody and subsequently charged with the murder of Antimothy Lamar Davis.
