LaShay Ford, a 24-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on January 24, 2018, in Columbus, Georgia. LaShay, known affectionately as Shay, was pronounced dead at Midtown Medical Center following a shooting incident at a residence on Wickham Drive. The incident also left two other family members injured. LaShay's mother, Laquanda Brown, described her daughter as her best friend and a strong woman who had recently been hired for a new job.
