The incident occurred during a domestic dispute at his apartment in Peachtree Corners. According to police reports, Dwayne Pete was involved in a heated argument with his wife, Willona Pete, who was in the process of moving out of their shared residence to relocate to South Carolina. Assisting her with the move was 18-year-old Jerry Bennett from Spartanburg, South Carolina.
