In the late hours of March 12, 2016, 21-year-old Davon Adams, an African American male, was out with friends at an entertainment center in Norcross, Georgia. Later that evening, he and his friends drove to the Bryant Park Apartments on Hillandale Drive. The reason for their visit to the apartment complex remains unclear. In the early morning hours of March 13, 2016, the Gwinnett County Police Department received a 911 call about a person down in the parking lot of the complex.
