On February 21, 2016, Vernie Burroughs, a 43-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed in Norcross, Georgia. The incident occurred at the Indian Trail Apartments, where Burroughs was found dead at the scene with apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting took place on a Sunday night, and multiple 911 calls were made immediately following the incident, reporting that six shots had been fired.
