Alan Martinez, an 11-year-old boy from Norcross, Georgia, tragically died on March 11, 2016, due to an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. Alan, a student at Summerour Middle School, was playing with a handgun in his family's garage when the firearm discharged, fatally wounding him. At the time of the incident, Alan was accompanied by a 9-year-old boy, and his mother was inside the home. The boy's father was not present during the incident.
