In the summer of 2018, the life of 31-year-old Dustin Chase Wilson was cut short in a deadly shooting in Kite, Georgia. On June 26, the man known to friends and family as 'Block' was killed, prompting an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Wilson, a resident of Swainsboro, was a father of two sons and was remembered as someone who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and softball.
The investigation into his death led to the arrest of Priscilla Riner Hooks, who was accused of the
shooting. Hooks was later released on bond in July 2018. The following year, in July 2019, she appeared in Emanuel County Courthouse for pre-trial motions, where her attorney sought a change of venue. During these proceedings, the court also heard testimony from two GBI agents to determine the voluntariness of a confession made by Hooks.
The legal proceedings against Priscilla Riner Hooks, however, would never reach a conclusion. In a dramatic turn of events, while out on bond for Wilson's murder, Hooks was found shot and killed in September 2019 at the Union Chapel Cemetery. The investigation into Dustin Wilson's death remains officially unresolved with the death of the primary suspect.
