In the warm evening of July 5, 2020, a house party on Azalea Drive in Macon, Georgia, turned into a scene of violence that would claim the life of 30-year-old Davius Dewayne Johnson. An altercation broke out among several people at the gathering, escalating quickly and tragically as multiple individuals drew firearms and began shooting. In the ensuing chaos, Johnson was struck by multiple gunshots. He was rushed to The Medical Center, Navicent Health, but succumbed to his injuries.
Another man, 31-year-old Notorious Williams, was also fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 7-year-old girl was also wounded in the crossfire, suffering a gunshot to her leg. She was transported to the hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office swiftly launched an investigation into the deadly shooting. Their efforts led to the identification of 57-year-old Anthony Cyril Green as a suspect. He was apprehended by investigators the morning after the incident at a residence in South Macon and taken into custody without incident.
In July 2024, a jury found Anthony Cyril Green guilty of the murders of both Davius Johnson and Notorious Williams. For his role in the fatal house party shooting, Green received two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. In addition to the life sentences, he was given further penalties of 20 years, 10 years, five years, and 15 years to be served consecutively.
