In the winter of 2019, the life of 31-year-old Jeffery Flansburg of Tennessee was tragically cut short in LaGrange, Georgia. On the evening of December 18th, an argument escalated to fatal violence outside the Motel 6 on LaFayette Parkway. Responding to calls of shots fired, LaGrange police officers discovered Flansburg lying on the sidewalk in front of Room 317. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to two individuals. Authorities determined that at least two people were involved in the altercation with Flansburg just before the gunshots rang out. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a red Chevrolet Cruze. This vehicle was later located in Columbus, Georgia, and tied to 27-year-old Tony Reynoso, also of Columbus. An arrest warrant was promptly issued for Reynoso on a charge of murder.
As the investigation continued, a second suspect was identified. A murder warrant was also obtained for 32-year-old Joshua D. Osterman of Columbus in connection with Flansburg's death. A reward was offered for information leading to the arrests of the two men.
Within a week of the shooting, both suspects were in custody. Tony Reynoso was apprehended in Montgomery, Alabama. Shortly thereafter, Joshua D. Osterman turned himself in to the LaGrange Police Department. Both men were charged in the death of Jeffery Flansburg.
