In the early morning hours of July 21, 2018, a violent encounter in LaGrange, Georgia, claimed the life of John Westley Davis, a 40-year-old African American man. Davis was seated in a white car on Houston Street, accompanied by his 15-year-old son and a friend. The trio had just arrived at the location when their vehicle was approached by a car described as being dark in color.
