In the waning hours of a Thursday afternoon, the life of a young DeKalb County police officer, Edgar Isidro Flores, was tragically cut short. On December 13, 2018, the 24-year-old male officer, who was of Latino heritage, was conducting a traffic stop near the intersection of Candler and Tilson Roads in Decatur, Georgia. What began as a routine procedure quickly escalated into a fatal encounter that would leave two men dead and a community in mourning.
