In the late evening of Thursday, August 29, 2019, the life of 31-year-old Ivan Pastor-Vital of Doraville, Georgia, was cut short by gunfire. The Gwinnett County police were summoned to the InTown Suites on Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Duluth at approximately 9:15 p.m. following a report of a person being shot. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Pastor-Vital deceased on the third floor of the hotel.
