In a tragic turn of events on a Tuesday evening in Duluth, Georgia, a domestic dispute escalated to a fatal shooting, claiming the life of 26-year-old Jordan Calloway. The incident unfolded around 7:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Venture Parkway and Market Street, an area populated with several hotels. When Gwinnett County police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Calloway with a single gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries on January 28, 2025, and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting swiftly identified a suspect: Calloway's 54-year-old stepfather, Johnny Mays Blackshear Jr. of Stockbridge. According to police, the altercation was a domestic-related incident between the two men. Witnesses at the scene were able to provide information that pointed to Blackshear's involvement. The Gwinnett County Police Department worked in coordination with the Walton County Sheriff's Office to locate the suspect.
