Patrick Jones, a 39-year-old male, was fatally shot on Saturday, September 17, 2022, outside an apartment building on Britain Drive in Lawrenceville, a community in the Duluth area. When Gwinnett County Police arrived at the scene just after 7:45 p.m., they discovered Mr. Jones with a fatal gunshot wound.
A short distance away, first responders found a second victim, a 49-year-old man, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The motive for the shooting remains unknown to authorities, and the investigation into the double shooting is ongoing.
