A summer party in Macon, Georgia, turned into a scene of violence and tragedy, leaving two people dead and a young child wounded. Notorious Montreal Williams, a 31-year-old female, was among those who lost their lives on July 5, 2020. The gathering, held at a residence on Azalea Drive, was shattered by an altercation that erupted into gunfire shortly after 1 a.m.
During the chaotic moments that followed, multiple individuals drew firearms and began shooting. Williams sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another partygoer, 30-year-old Davius Dewayne Johnson, was also fatally shot and died after being transported to a local hospital. A 7-year-old girl was also struck by a bullet in the leg but was reported to be in stable condition after receiving medical care.
In the aftermath of the deadly shooting, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation that quickly pointed to a single suspect. Investigators identified 57-year-old Anthony Cyril Green of Macon as the individual responsible for the homicides. A search for Green ensued, and he was located and taken into custody at a residence in South Macon on the morning of the shooting.
Green was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the deaths of Williams and Johnson. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and held without bond. The motive for the shooting was reported to be an altercation that occurred among several people at the party, which tragically escalated to the use of firearms.
