In the early hours of the day after Christmas in 2024, a gathering at a residence on Triple Hill Drive in Macon, Georgia, turned deadly. Jawasiki Deuventa Guyton, a 34-year-old male, was fatally wounded in a shooting that also left six other people injured. The incident occurred at a house known in the neighborhood as a 'shot house,' a place where alcoholic beverages were sold and consumed.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office reported that an argument broke out at the location, which
escalated to gunfire. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered a chaotic situation with multiple victims. Guyton was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 3:00 a.m. Of the other six victims, one was reported to be in critical condition, while the remaining five sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Jawasiki Deuventa Guyton, born on March 4, 1990, in Macon, was a father to six children. He was educated in the Bibb County Public School System and was employed at a local truck wash. His family and friends remembered him for the love he had for his mother and children.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation. Authorities have stated that they have a person of interest in the case, but have not publicly released a name or announced any arrests in connection with the shooting.
