On March 29, 2023, at 6:31 p.m., the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic call at Brookhaven Apartments, located at 4861 Brookhaven Rd in Macon, Georgia. While en route, deputies received an additional call reporting a person shot at the same location. Upon arrival, they found a Hispanic male, later identified as 37-year-old Christopher Matthew Rachalla, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced Rachalla deceased at the scene.
