Jarred Lamar Sanders, a 34-year-old African American male from Gainesville, GA, was tragically shot and killed on July 27, 2020, in Athens, GA. The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. in a breezeway of the Bethel Midtown Village apartments on Hickman Drive. Sanders, who was visiting Athens, was known locally as "St. Louis," a nod to his original hometown. He was employed at a chicken factory in Gainesville and had previously lived in Athens.
