Jarvis Knight, a 28-year-old man, was tragically killed in a shooting that occurred late on the night of July 31, 2020. The incident took place at a house party on Mikado Avenue in Macon, Georgia. Witnesses at the party reported that an individual began shooting, and Knight was struck in the head. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
Despite medical efforts, Jarvis Knight succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the afternoon of August 1, 2020. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office immediately launched a homicide investigation into the fatal shooting. No other injuries were reported from the incident at the house party.
Following an investigation, authorities identified a suspect in the shooting. On the evening of August 19, 2020, Bibb County sheriff's deputies served a warrant for murder to 22-year-old Ryshek Jamar Jackson. At the time the warrant was served, Jackson was already incarcerated at the Bibb County jail on unrelated charges. He was subsequently charged with the murder of Jarvis Knight.
