In the early morning hours of October 4, 2023, a sense of unease settled over a Sunoco gas station on Hawkinsville Road in Macon, Georgia. It was here that the life of 22-year-old Devin Dewayne Fincher, a male resident of Macon, was tragically cut short. Deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:19 a.m. following reports of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Fincher unresponsive, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Despite any efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by the deputy coroner.

He was subsequently charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of Devin Dewayne Fincher. Joyner was denied bond and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
