In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Macon, Georgia, a violent altercation shattered the quiet of a home on Hillcrest Avenue, leaving 45-year-old Larry Antonio Harden with fatal injuries. On May 29, 2018, Harden was discovered by his girlfriend suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She quickly transported him to the Medical Center Navicent Health, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 2:30 a.m.

Office launched an investigation into the homicide, which was the 18th in Macon for that year. Their inquiries soon led to the identification of two individuals connected to the fatal shooting. Later that same day, authorities arrested 42-year-old Annie Jones and 23-year-old Seller Bell, charging both with the murder of Larry Harden. Investigators determined that an argument between Harden, Jones, and Bell had preceded the deadly shooting.
Further details emerged revealing the relationship between the individuals involved. Seller Bell was the son of Annie Jones, who was Harden's longtime girlfriend. The case proceeded through the legal system, and in July 2022, nearly four years after the incident, a jury reached a verdict in the trial of Seller Bell. After deliberating for just an hour, the jury found Bell guilty on all counts, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Bell had claimed self-defense, a narrative that was contradicted by forensic evidence, medical reports, cell phone data, and witness testimony from family members. Consequently, Seller Bell was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of his mother's boyfriend, Larry Harden Sr.
