Earnest Manker, a 60-year-old African American man, was found dead in his vehicle near Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA, on August 27, 2020. The Savannah Police Department (SPD) responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at the intersection of West Huntington and Whitaker streets. Upon arrival, officers discovered Manker deceased inside his black Chevrolet Malibu. An autopsy conducted the following day determined that Manker had died as a result of a shooting, and his death was ruled a homicide.
