De’Andre Jones, a 20-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on August 29, 2020, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The incident occurred at a Chevron gas station located at 410 South Stone Mountain Lithonia Road. On the day of the incident, De’Andre Jones was unarmed and walking through the gas station when he encountered Jedidja Mbungu, a 30-year-old man who had previously had interactions with Jones at the same location.
