On January 29, 2019, Ronald Horton Jr., a 28-year-old African American male from Snellville, Georgia, was found dead in a hotel room at the Days Inn on Glenn Club Drive in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The Gwinnett County Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots at the hotel. Upon arrival, officers discovered Horton in a second-floor room, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. The room contained marijuana and cash, suggesting a possible motive related to drugs or robbery.
