In a tragic turn of events on July 7, 2021, Tyvesha Genene Bond Brown, a 46-year-old African American woman, lost her life in her Macon, Georgia, home. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting at the Golden Ocala Boulevard residence and discovered a heartbreaking scene.
Inside the home, deputies found both Tyvesha and her 49-year-old husband, James Brown, unresponsive with gunshot wounds.
The investigation that followed determined that the incident was a murder-suicide. Evidence indicated that James Brown shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. The couple's two teenage children, a daughter named TeKalyn and a son named Justin, were present in the house at the time of the fatal events but were physically unharmed.
