In the crisp autumn air of a Thursday evening in Macon, Georgia, the life of 16-year-old Alyssa Zari Jackson was tragically cut short on November 21, 2013. A student at Southwest High School, known for her vibrant and humorous personality, she was standing outside a house on Cedar Avenue with several other people shortly before 8:20 p.m. when a car drove past and shots were fired. A single bullet struck Alyssa in the lower back.
